Position Summary

Reporting to the Safety and Compliance Manager for Edmonton the On-Road Safety Supervisor is accountable for the safety and training of our Cryogenics Drivers in our Edmonton Terminal.

Location: 17508 116 Avenue NW, Edmonton

Schedule: Monday to Friday, Days

What you\'ll do

  • performing ride a longs and Job Site Observations on 60+ full time drivers
  • Conducting one-on-one coaching with drivers during scheduled runs
  • Mentor and train drivers on all Cryogenics accounts, equipment, policies & procedures within the company
  • Performing pre/post trip inspection and written driver evaluations
  • Accurately documenting and addressing training progress and problems
  • Safely and efficiently inspect, operate and maintain company and customer issued equipment in accordance with Transport regulations, TSA, company and customer policies and procedures
  • This position will involve fieldwork with driver interactions and observations, site visits and assessments, Incident and accident investigations and response
  • Conduct hazard / risk assessments
  • Practicing, supporting and enforcing safe work procedures including safety and company policies
  • Responsible for direct front-line supervision and support to Drivers in regards to compliance with applicable safety policies and regulations
  • Recommend solutions to issues, improvement opportunities or new prevention measures
  • Emergency first responder - Attend and provide direct response to emergency situations including the completion of accurate accident/incident summary reports and other official documentation
  • Other duties as required
What you\'ll bring
  • Valid Class 1, driver\'s license and have a clean Commercial Drivers Abstract
  • 3 to 5 years of tractor-trailer driving experience and Preventable Accident free for a minimum of three (3) years required
  • 2 years\' cryogenics tanker experience a must
  • Able to drive manual transmission vehicles (up to 18 Speed)
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Knowledge of Cryogenics and Transportation of Dangerous Goods a must
  • CTSC / CTSP designation an asset
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Effective time management skills
  • Ability to remain calm under demanding conditions
  • Ability to train, evaluate and manage drivers
  • Maintain training documentation based on regulations and company policies
  • First Aid Certification an asset
