Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Safety Officer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring a safe and compliant work environment across all operations. This role requires a proactive approach to identifying potential hazards and implementing effective safety measures. The Safety Officer will play a crucial role in promoting a culture of safety within the organization.

Duties

• Conduct regular safety inspections and audits to ensure compliance with local, federal regulations.
• Develop, implement, and maintain safety policies and procedures in alignment with industry standards.
• Provide training and resources to employees on safety practices and emergency response protocols.
• Investigate accidents and incidents, documenting findings and recommending corrective actions.
• Collaborate with management to assess risks and develop strategies for risk mitigation.
• Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, training sessions, and incident reports.
• Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices related to workplace safety.
• Utilize construction management software to track safety compliance and reporting.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Safety Officer or similar role in a construction or industrial environment.
• Strong knowledge of safety regulations, standards, and best practices.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to educate employees on safety procedures effectively.
• Proficiency in using construction management software is preferred.
• Strong analytical skills with attention to detail in identifying potential hazards.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team to promote a safe workplace culture.
• Relevant certifications in occupational health and safety are an advantage.

Job Type: Fixed term contract
Contract length: 6 months

Pay: $20.83-$25.00 per hour

Expected hours: No more than 40 per week
