Overview


We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Safety Officer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring a safe work environment by implementing safety protocols and compliance measures within our organization. This role is crucial in promoting a culture of safety and preventing workplace accidents, particularly in construction settings. The Safety Officer will work closely with management and employees to identify potential hazards and develop strategies to mitigate risks.

Responsibilities



Conduct regular safety inspections and audits to ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies. Develop, implement, and maintain safety programs, policies, and procedures tailored to the specific needs of the organization. Provide training and resources to employees on safe work practices, emergency procedures, and the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE). Investigate accidents and incidents to determine root causes and recommend corrective actions to prevent future occurrences. Collaborate with project managers to assess risks associated with construction activities and provide guidance on safety best practices. Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, training sessions, incidents, and compliance reports. Stay updated on industry regulations, standards, and best practices related to workplace safety. Utilize construction management software to track safety metrics and improve overall safety performance.

Experience



Proven experience in a safety officer or similar role within the construction industry is preferred. Familiarity with construction management software is highly desirable. Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and other relevant safety standards. Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively convey safety information to diverse audiences. Strong analytical skills for identifying potential hazards and developing effective solutions. Certification in occupational health and safety or equivalent is an advantage. Knowledge of WCB procedures, including claims management and related legislation, and COR audit certifications. Experience with disability management, incident investigation, workplace inspections, and job hazard analysis. Demonstrated ability to provide beneficial recommendations to solve safety issues related to regulations, laws, and policies. Able to interpret and implement company policies and procedures. Computer literacy, including intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Word, excel, outlook. 2-3 years experience in safety management Diploma in OSHA and Certification in NCSO Valid Driver's license Intermediate First Aid certified and maintained

Pay: $45,000.00-$60,000.00 per year

Schedule:

Monday to Friday Weekends as needed
