The Safety Manager will be responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing health and safety programs across the company. This role ensures compliance with New Brunswick's Occupational Health & Safety Act, WorkSafeNB regulations, and company standards. The Safety Manager will provide guidance, training, and leadership to site teams, building a strong safety culture and driving continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
Ensure compliance with provincial and federal occupational health and safety regulations.
Oversee the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of safety policies, procedures, and training programs.
Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and risk assessments to identify hazards and ensure corrective measures are implemented.
Lead incident investigations and ensure timely reporting, root cause analysis, and resolution.
Provide training and orientation for employees, subcontractors, and supervisors on workplace safety practices.
Support crisis management and emergency response planning across all locations.
Collaborate with managers, site supervisors, and contractors to promote a safe work environment.
Monitor and report safety performance metrics, ensuring accurate documentation and record-keeping.
Act as the main point of contact with regulatory agencies (WorkSafeNB, Department of Labour, etc.).
Drive a proactive safety culture through coaching, mentorship, and employee engagement.
Strong communication skills, including conflict resolution and de-escalation techniques.
Ability to teach, mentor, and guide team members to support growth and development.

Qualifications (Required):
Post-secondary education in Occupational Health & Safety, Construction Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in construction safety management.
Strong knowledge of provincial and federal safety regulations and standards.
Certification in Occupational Health & Safety (CRSP, CHSC, or equivalent) considered an asset.
First Aid/CPR and WHMIS certification required.
