Safety Coordinator with EMT/EMR

Nuna Logistics Ltd. is now accepting resumes for a Health and Safety Coordinator - EMT/EMR with Heavy Civil Earthworks experience.

Qualifications:
  • CSO/ NCSO Designation
  • Registered EMT / EMR
  • 3+ years\' experience working in a Heavy Civil Earthworks environment, preferably in Northern Canada.
  • 2+ years\' experience working as an EMT/EMR or PCP, preferably on a Heavy Civil Earthworks project.
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite applications such as Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint. Ability to create, maintain and perform data management in Excel spreadsheets is a requirement.
  • Excellent leadership skills, including strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to teach and speak publicly to workers and leaders.
  • Valid Standard First Aid Certificate.
  • Valid CANN-AMM DOT Urine Collection and Screening Technician and Breath Alcohol Technician will be considered an asset.



Safety Coordinator Duties
  • Ensures compliance with statutory requirements, company policies and practices.
  • Respond to emergency situations and lead incident investigations to determine root cause.
  • Ensure timely, accurate and complete files are maintained for safety documentation.
  • Review work sites, equipment, procedures, and practices with the intention of identifying and correcting hazards.
  • Ensure adequate and measurable corrective actions are implemented whenever deficiencies are identified.
  • Identify, deliver, and administer all required safety training for supervisors and employees, including Company Orientation.
  • Maintain inventory and stock safety equipment purchased and issued.
  • Maintain current knowledge of safety literature, regulations, codes, and practice.




EMT Duties
  • Administer first-aid treatment and life-support care to sick or injured persons in a remote camp setting,
  • Operate equipment such as external defibrillators and bag-valve mask resuscitators in advanced life-support environments,
  • Assess the nature and extent of illness or injury to establish and prioritize medical procedures,
  • Observe, record, and report to physician the patient\'s condition or injury, the treatment provided, and reactions to drugs and treatment,
  • Administer drugs, orally or by injection, and perform intravenous procedures under a physician\'s direction,
  • Immobilize patient for transportation on stretcher for ambulance/aircraft/marine transport, using backboard or other spinal immobilization device,
  • Coordinate with the doctor on call and provide patients\' vital statistics and medical history, to determine the circumstances of the emergency, and to administer emergency treatment,
  • Comfort and reassure patients,
  • Maintain medical and communication equipment, and replenish first-aid equipment and supplies,


All successful candidates must:
  • Be proficient in English, both verbally and written
  • Have a valid Class 5 Driver\'s License
  • Have experience as requested in the job description above
