Safety Coordinator



Penn-co Construction is a leading construction company currently hiring a Safety Coordinator to join our team working at our Steinbach office with travel to northern remote communities. This role is integral to support our safety culture, ensuring compliance with regulations and empowering workers with the knowledge and tools to work safely.

Responsibilities



Support and maintain Penn-co's safety program in accordance with provincial legislation, COR standards and internal policies.

Champion safety on our projects by promoting awareness, accountability and continuous improvement.

Conduct regular site inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and ensure adherence to safety procedures.

Provide guidance and support to construction site teams in the implementation of safety measures and practices.

Participate in the investigation of incidents, accidents, and near misses while assisting in corrective action planning and documentation.

Collaborate with project managers, site supervisors, and subcontractors to proactively manage safety compliance.

Participate in the annual COR audit process and assist in maintaining certification.

Travel to remote project sites for safety inspections, support and collaboration with field teams.

Qualifications



NCSO, similar designation or working towards it.

Safety experience in the construction industry.

Solid understanding of construction safety regulations and practices.

Effective communicator with strong interpersonal skills to effectively engage and educate employees at all levels.

Ability to prioritize tasks, handle multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines.

Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, and Excel)

Organized, detail-oriented and able to work independently and in a team environment.

Able of travel by plane to remote northern communicates and work flexible hours as needed.
