About Us:


The Safety Coordinator plays a crucial role in ensuring a safe and compliant work environment. This position is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing safety programs and policies to minimize risks and promote a culture of safety within the organization. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills and a proactive approach to safety management.

Key Responsibilities



Develop and implement safety policies and procedures that comply with regulations. Carrying out Safety Talks and safety inspections on all company job sites and ensuring all activities are compliant with safety guidelines Provide training and guidance to employees on safety practices and protocols such as hazard recognition, emergency response, and personal protective equipment (PPE) usage. Investigate incidents and accidents, prepare reports and recommend corrective actions. Collaborate with management to promote a culture of safety and health. Maintain accurate records of safety training, incidents and inspections. Stay updated on industry trends and changes in safety regulations. Submit required safety documentation to General Contractors, ensuring compliance with site-specific safety requirements and submission deadlines. Deliver comprehensive company safety orientations for new hires. Oversee additional divisions, including Electrical, HVAC, Plumbing, and Commercial Construction, in addition to civil/sewer and water.

Qualifications:



Bachelor's degree or diploma in occupational health and safety or a related field. Minimum 3 years' experience as a safety coordinator in the construction industry or a similar role. COR Certification and previous experience working in COR-certified companies. Valid Class 5 License and clean drivers abstract. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to conduct training sessions and presentations effectively. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Safety Management Software. NCSO Designation considered an asset Other certifications: Excavation and trenching, Flag Person, Traffic control considered an asset. Previous experience in Site Docs considered an asset.
