Opportunity
The Safety Coordinator works with our manufacturing team to promote a culture of safety. They build relationships with all stakeholders, ensure compliance, and ensure policies and procedures are expertly communicated. Key objectives in the role include: Ensure compliance with all current safety legislation
  • Manage Safety Program and suggest continuous improvements
  • Develop, update, and review safety-related policies
  • Develop, update, and ensure safe work procedures are in place for all required procedures
  • Conduct safety orientation for new employees and contractors, ensuring the information is current
  • Conduct internal safety training
  • Assist manufacturing employees to conduct job hazard analyses
  • Maintain master list of safety-related employee training and ensure everyone\xe2\x80\x99s required training is up to date
  • Conduct safety audits with plant leadership ensuring recommendations are communicated and implemented
  • Facilitate investigations
  • Assist in root cause analyses on all accidents and near misses and ensure recommendations are communicated and implemented
  • Process all necessary documentation for work-related and non-work-related injuries
  • Coordinate return-to-work programs
  • Manage first aid kits and emergency equipment
  • Ensure safety records and documentation is current and organized
  • Conduct ergonomic assessments
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with industry groups

  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Great organizational skills
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing environment (asset)
  • Post-secondary education in a safety-related program or equivalent experience
  • COR certification (asset)
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office
