About the Role:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Safety Coordinator to support our safety programs across multiple divisions and jurisdictions. This role is vital in assisting with hazard identification, risk assessments, safety training, compliance tracking, and documentation management to promote a safe and compliant workplace. Our ideal candidate is organized, collaborative, and able to manage multiple priorities efficiently. Strong communication skills and a commitment to safety are essential.
This is a full-time position based out of our Delisle office, with occasional travel required.
Key Responsibilities Include but Are Not Limited To:
Assist with hazard identification, risk assessments, investigations, and corrective actions across all divisions; lead activities when necessary.
Monitor compliance with all applicable federal and provincial regulations and legislation.
Prepare regulatory submission packages, internal audits, and quarterly reports by researching, compiling, and presenting information, as directed by management.
Draft and revise safety manual sections, standard operating procedures, and safe work practices.
Compile and analyze inspection, incident, and training data to identify trends and recommend corrective actions.
Assist in planning, coordinating, and presenting at the Annual Safety Summits.
Lead Occupational Health Committee meetings by preparing materials, tracking action items, and documenting follow-up.
Develop and administer training materials, safety bulletins, and toolbox topics.
Administer new employee orientations and training.
Assist management in developing, tracking, and reporting on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) across divisions.
Review and maintain security documents.
Track and schedule safety training for employees across all divisions and jurisdictions.
Track and schedule safety related inspections.
File and maintain records to ensure compliance.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 3 years' experience in occupational health and safety coordination, preferably with exposure to both federally and provincially regulated industries.
Valid Class 5 Driver's license.
Demonstrated competency in supporting safety investigations, conducting hazard identification, and ensuring regulatory compliance.
Strong organizational and communication skills, with careful attention to detail.
Strong interpersonal skills.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Adept at managing multiple high priority tasks.
Self-motivated and driven, with the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with other departments.
Proficient in Microsoft Office and safety management software.
Experience in the rail industry is an asset.
Post-secondary education or certification in Occupational Health and Safety or related field is an asset.
