Role Overview

Join a creative, inclusive, and data-focused team looking to transform how Citi manages Corporate Loans data and operational processes and enhance how regulatory reports are produced \xe2\x80\x93 two major initiatives for the bank. The Cross Functional Business Analysis (CFBA) team within ISG Loans Technology at Citigroup is searching for a BA/Data Analyst skilled in data analytics to aid in creating strategic automation solutions and process reengineering within the Information Services Group (ISG) and Institutional Client Group (ICG) for Loans Products and for Credit Risk Monitoring.

The role involves partnering with several key internal stakeholders (Operations, Technology, Banking, Markets, Commercial Bank, TTS, Compliance and Risk) in order to create holistic and strategic solutions that fully support, satisfy, and anticipate the operational, credit monitoring, and reporting needs of the business and our regulators.

The CFBA team can be described as a consultancy-style team of Business Analysts and Technical Product Managers that are deployed to varying projects across the Loans Reengineering Initiative in ICG as a lot of these projects include solutioning and defining requirements across multiple internal systems.

The ISG organization works in partnership with data clients across all ICG business lines, deploying solutions to increase their competitiveness, through restructuring business processes, simplifying information access, and providing business intelligence around critical data.

Job Functions

The team is looking for a growth-oriented and curious business analyst/data analyst who will:

• Drive solutions with evidence \xe2\x80\x93 perform data analysis activities utilizing Excel, SQL and/or Python,
• Own the resolution of issues \xe2\x80\x93 manage multiple program sub-streams and aid in developing technology solutions based off analysis,
• Be organized and timely \xe2\x80\x93 have a strong appreciation for regulatory deadlines and be organized enough to manage multiple responsibilities at once,
• Be a change agent \xe2\x80\x93 review existing processes critically in order to identify inefficiencies and automation solutions,
• Communicate effectively \xe2\x80\x93 author formal artifacts such as Business Requirement Documents, CAP closure and Internal Audit documents, and communication materials for senior management and key business partners in the form of PowerPoint presentations and Excel spreadsheets,
• Hunt for the right solutions \xe2\x80\x93 collaborate with team members, technology partners, and business partners to identify efficient and strategic solutions.

An example of a project on the team includes manually validating reporting formulas/logic in Excel using raw data from various Citi data sources in order to either identify reporting errors in UAT testing, ensure any documented logic is accurate and improve documentation, or detect root causes of known data quality issues. The data analysis results would then be summarized and presented to the team.

The business analyst will:

• Gain structured analytical skills with a focus on presentation and design \xe2\x80\x93 create analysis that tells a story and efficiently answers prompted questions,
• Build presentation skills that cater to the audience using multiple mediums (verbal, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.),
• Receive mentorship from the analyst\xe2\x80\x99s reporting line as well as through formal development and leadership programs within ISG,
• Grow subject matter expertise in global loan products across Citigroup, loan servicing and payment processor concepts, Citi systems and data architecture, and regulatory reporting, and
• Be part of a collaborative, diverse, and results-driven team that supports one another on a daily basis.

Qualifications

• 5 plus years of relevant work experience
• A baseline understanding of financial instruments used by institutions. An understanding of loans products or experience in loan servicing with Loan IQ is a plus
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and working knowledge of Word and PowerPoint
• Experience with data analysis tools such as SQL, Python, Tableau, etc.

Education:

• 4 year degree - Business, Finance, Data Science or Analytics, Statistics, Engineering, or other similar degrees
