Participating as a member of a multidisciplinary health care team, the Rural Outpost Nurse is responsible for direct patient/client care at rural and remote health centres on Vancouver Island, and delivers health promotion programs to individuals and groups in a variety of settings in the rural and/or remote area.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education, Training And Experience

Remote Nursing Certification or eligible for Remote Nursing Certification to be obtained within one (1) year of hire.

Registration with BC College of Nurses and Midwives as a practicing RN(C) registrant.

Three (3) years\' recent related experience; knowledge of available programs and services, their interrelationships, and their function in delivering care in the community; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Basic Life Support, Level \'C\' certificate. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).

Valid BC drivers license.

Additional information for applicants

This rotation is a 6 weeks on 6 weeks off rotation currently. There is an on-call requirement to this position for 1700-0900 and 24hrs on weekends and stats. This position may qualify for our Rural and Remote Incentive: 1. $10,000 after employment in position commences, in exchange for 2-year Return of Service Commitment. 2. A potential additional payment of $5,000 in year 3, in exchange for a further 1-year Return of Service Commitment. 3. Guaranteed Regular employment for 5 years, at starting FTE. 4. 4. Up to $2,000 per year reimbursement of professional development fees (to a max of $8,000). Ask us for details on this exciting new incentive!
