Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Excavator Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in heavy equipment operation, particularly with excavators, and will be responsible for various tasks related to construction projects. This role requires a strong understanding of mechanical operations and the ability to work in diverse environments.

Duties

Operate rubber tire excavator and other heavy equipment to perform excavation tasks. Execute site preparation activities such as digging trenches, grading land, and paving surfaces. Knowledge and experience with overhead obstacles such as powerlines. Collaborate with project managers, site supervisors and other on site contractors to ensure work is completed according to specifications and timelines. Conduct routine inspections and maintenance on equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety. Follow all safety protocols and regulations while operating machinery on construction sites. Maintain accurate records of work performed and report any issues or concerns to management.

Qualifications

Minimum 2 years proven experience in heavy equipment operation, particularly with excavators, backhoes, and loaders. Mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot equipment issues effectively. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Excellent communication skills to coordinate effectively with team members and supervisors. A valid driver's license is required. Class 1 and/or 3 would be an asset.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $25.00-$30.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 45 per week
