The LDB Wholesale Operations team is responsible for the registration, procurement, customs clearance, selling and distribution of liquor products for the province of British Columbia. Our stakeholders comprise approximately 800 suppliers, over 1500 retail outlets and 8000 licensed establishments. Working in collaboration with our suppliers and agents, our vision is to provide a reliable and efficient service to support the success of our customers. There are five key divisions within the business: Supply Chain, Pricing, Imports, Customer Service and Distribution. Each of our teams work closely in alignment with each other to provide a seamless customer experience and deliver on our service goals. About this role: The Assembly Operations Supervisor is responsible for supervising operations of a shift in the Delta Distribution Centre (DDC) and supervising a group of assistants that oversee a large workforce of up to 250 regular, part-time and auxiliary employees in a 24/5 operation. This role is part of a team of supervisors and is responsible for leading the day-to-day operations and making timely decisions to ensure the efficient management of operational areas of assembly to ensure a high level of customer service. This includes, but is not limited to, managing multiple reports in a multi-department environment, with a heavy focus on coaching and mentoring; ensuring all safety practices are upheld; enforcing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), including those regarding the security of the facility and its assets while ensuring service levels are met; and upholding employee performance standards and adherence to all internal policies and procedures in conjunction with Human Resources as required. A criminal record check is required. The successful candidate must be prepared to work in a multi-shift department and willing to work overtime on an occasional basis. This is a warehouse environment with exposure to dust, noise and loud machinery. The successful candidate will operate powered mobile equipment (i.e., Reach Trucks, Pallet Movers) and is required to wear appropriate safety equipment, including steel-toed shoes/boots.   • Minimum of two years\xe2\x80\x99 experience utilizing a Warehouse Management System (WMS) in a complex distribution/warehouse environment with emphasis on functions, assembly and forklift operation.
  • Minimum of two years supervisory experience assigning, monitoring and examining work of assigned employees for accuracy and quality, evaluating work performance and maintaining schedules.
  • Experience in a unionized environment.
Preference may be given to those candidates with the following:
  • Experience with utilizing Microsoft applications.
  • Post-secondary courses related to supply chain, business administration, supervision/management, or related fields.
