Ontario Government Client is actively seeking a skilled Software Developer. As a Software Developer, bring your expertise in Catalyst-based registry systems, Oracle databases, and Microsoft Databricks for dashboard development. We value your hands-on experience, technical recommendations, and proficiency in n-tier J2EE environments. Strong documentation and analytical skills are essential, along with familiarity in system testing tools like HP UFT and Selenium. Public sector experience, knowledge of GO-IT Standards, and understanding of the Ontario Business Registry system (ONBIS) are a plus.

Note: The candidate is present on-site for three days each week.

Criteria:

Technical Knowledge:

Extensive hands-on experience with Catalyst-based business registry and/or occupational registry systems and their related data models.

Extensive experience using Oracle databases and structured SQL-based query languages.

Proven ability to provide technical recommendations and create technical artifacts for database schemas, queries, data extracts, reports, and DB performance within system and/or environment constraints.

Experience in an n-tier J2EE-based portal and web application server environment, including enterprise service bus, DataPower, and standards-based web services.

Previous hands-on experience with applications built on IBM WebSphere Portal, IBM WebSphere Application Server, and WSRP-based applications.

Experience developing and supporting dashboards in Microsoft Databricks.

Documentation:

Knowledge and experience with creating architecture artifacts.

Knowledge and experience with developing Technical and Application Design Documents.

Documentation/knowledge transfer to project technical staff.

System Analysis, Testing, and Integration:

Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills; excellent communication and interpersonal/negotiation skills.

Understanding of systems environments, business analysis, and change management.

Experience using automated system testing tools such as HP UFT and Selenium.

Familiarity and experience with testing web accessibility, WCAG 2.0 Level A & AA, as well as Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) and related regulations.

Public Sector Experience:

Understanding of Public Sector IT methodologies and standards.

Knowledge of GO-IT Standards (GO-ITS) and Enterprise Architecture.

Experience in a complex, unionized, and multi-stakeholder environment.

Understanding of the Ontario Business Registry system (ONBIS) and business processes, knowledge of Catalyst.
