Reporting to the Director of Care, the incumbent will be responsible for serving the needs of the clients. This includes:
Maintaining resident care plans and records and required documentation in accordance with policies and procedures and legislative requirements.
Interpreting and adhering to company policies, procedures, practices and philosophies.
Managing medications as prescribed and observes changes in condition and reports them on the personal charts and to the Director of Care. Monitors the safekeeping of drugs and narcotics, and ensures narcotic count is correct.
Assisting in maintaining a clean, safe environment for residents and personnel.
Participating in orientation and in-service programs and on standing committees as assigned by the Client Services Manager.
Liaising with family members when required and acting as a resource for questions, concerns regarding practices or related health care issues. Reports family concerns to the Client Services Manager and other staff.
Reports unusual occurrences, safety hazards or illness or problems with clients to the Director of Care.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Demonstrate solid nursing skills and excellent communication skills.
Skills and Knowledge Requirements
Maintains a current registration as a RPN with the provincial health regulatory College of Nurses.
Knowledgeable of the Health and Safety regulations.
Experienced in geriatric, rehabilitation or long term care.
Valid First Aid and CPR Certificate.
Excellent written and verbal English skills.
Physical Job Requirements
This position requires the incumbent to be able to:
Work in an environment where there are many distractions and attention is needed on numerous issues at a time.
Walking, stretching and standing on a variety of surfaces for at least 3 hrs per day.
Lift alone, up to 40 pounds.
Pushing, pulling wheeled equipment up to 50 pounds.
Bending, stooping on a regular basis.
Climbing stairs and able to work in confined spaces.
The successful candidate must provide proof of a satisfactory current criminal record check with vulnerable sector screen and an up to date TB test.

Pay: $28.60-$29.75 per hour
