Participates as primary clinical nurse, associate clinical nurse, clinical nursing team member or clinical nursing team leader in the planning and implementation of patient care in
Provis Endoscopy
Directs and assists in carrying out safety aseptic technique and procedures;
Creates teamwork with other RNs, RPNs and works with endoscopy technicians and PSW.
Working Relationship
Works collaboratively with clinical nursing team, physicians, clinical support staff and administrative staff;
Maintains positive communication with nursing, physician, technical and administration staff;
Effectively interacts between nursing team and patients and their families/caregivers;
Acts in accordance with the behavioral standards and policies of PROVIS RUDD CLINICS.
Physical Requirements of the Position
Extended periods of standing and walking; occasional assisting with patient lifting.
Education, Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills
Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing with registration as a Registered Practical Nurse & licensed to practice in Ontario
Min.1 year experience preferred, new graduates accepted
Current BCLS certifications
Ability to assess, plan, implement and evaluate clinical nursing care
Good verbal and written communication skills, proficiency in the English language
Excellent time management and attention to detail
Computer literacy
I.V. experience
1)Clinical / Quality Assurance
Delivers direct nursing care to patients utilizing the nursing process;
Assists physicians with endoscopy and other procedures provided at PROVIS RUDD CLINICS;
Prepares specimens for pathology lab;
Ensures proper functioning and safety (sterilization) of equipment; initiates repairs of faulty equipment, and assists with sterilization, if and when required;
Ensures that work area is clean, sanitized and free of clutter at all times;
Follows quality assurance standards as directed by PROVIS RUDD CLINICS
Procedures and IHF guidelines and other applicable quality standards;
Is aware of safety specific concerns with regard to patients age;
If required, monitors required stock and safety/quality levels for clinical supplies.
IV initiation and maintenance
Assists with preoperative patient assessment and teaching
Communicating with client to decrease anxiety levels, providing information and answering questions before procedure
Ensures that the work area is clean, sanitized and free of clutter.
Check the emergency box before the procedure starts.
Restock procedure room supplies
Co-sign narcotic counts
2) Administration, Records and Statistics
Accurately and consistently documents patient care results as per regulatory body
Completes required forms, reports and statistics as required.

Performs patient care through teamwork;
Maintains professionalism in challenging situations;
Maintains confidentiality of patient, personnel and corporate information;
Participates in continuing education programs and employee improvement plans
