Position Summary:

Tacten is currently recruiting for Journeyperson IRATA B-Pressure or CWB Welders to join our projects team at our CNRL site in Fort McMurray, AB. If you are seeking a dynamic industrial environment with opportunities for individual growth and learning, this is for you.
Responsibilities:
Perform welding on high-pressure systems using various welding processes such as SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding), and GTAW (Gas Tungsten Arc Welding). Weld components in all positions including flat, vertical, or overhead positions. Ensure welds meet specified standards and pass non-destructive testing methods (e.g., X-ray, ultrasonic testing). Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and specifications. Prepare materials by cutting, fitting, and assembling them as required. Select and set up welding equipment, ensuring all tools and materials are in proper working condition. Inspect completed welds to ensure they meet quality and safety standards. Make necessary adjustments to welding techniques or equipment settings to correct defects. Maintain accurate records of welds and inspections. Follow all safety protocols and regulations to prevent accidents and injuries. Wear appropriate protective gear and ensure a safe working environment. Stay updated on industry standards and best practices for high-pressure welding.

Requirements:

Position Requirements

Journeyman Welding Certification required B Pressure Certication an asset Valid CWB Certification in Process: SMAW required IRATA (any level) required or willingness to obtain IRATA Level 1

Safety Certifications

CSTS/OSSA or OSSA BSO or OSSA CSO required CSE/M (Confined Space and Monitor and Entry) required ESC Fall Protection an asset
