In support of this acquisition "BP Canada", has an exciting career opportunity for a Roofing (Shingle) Mill Foreman for our Edmonton Plant. WHATS THE JOB? Reporting to the Plant Manager, this is your opportunity to join a company with a rich manufacturing history that values the training and development of its employees. This role is a shift-based position that will see you work 6:30am to 6:30pm or 6:30pm to 6:30am which rotates every week. You will work a 3 day per week, 4 day week rotation. Heres what youll be responsible for in this role

• Supervise, co-ordinate and schedule the activities of workers who operate the various machines and all associated duties
• Ensure that systems and equipment are operating efficiently and that proper maintenance and repairs are performed
• Establish methods to meet work schedules and co-ordinate work activities with other departments
• Resolve work problems and recommend measures to improve productivity and product quality
• Requisition materials and supplies
• Train staff in job duties, safety procedures and company policies
• Recommend personnel actions such as job movement per the collective agreement
• Prepare production and other reports
• Monitor safety conditions
• Help with set up machines and equipment

IS THIS JOB FOR YOU?

• Technical degree or relative experience (experience with multi-cylinder paper machines, an asset)
• Relevant experience in a supervisory role, 3 to 5 years in a manufacturing environment (pulp and paper experience is an asset).
• Proven ability to use Microsoft office and ERP
• Inventory management experience
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Must have proven communication skills and excellent English language skills (Written and Oral)
• Strong sense of urgency and priority
• Must be creative, independent , resourceful and positive
• Commitment to enforcing the highest safety standard
