Our growing team continuously seeks hard-working and skilled individuals who will be a positive impact to our waste management company. We are currently seeking to have a Driver join our team.

The basic function of the Landfill Truck Driver is to operate the truck efficiently, safely and at the lowest feasible cost to the company. A Truck Driver is responsible for ensuring his/her vehicle is in compliance with the company's safety standards prior to operating the vehicle, ensures that all company regulations are adhered to at all times while operating the vehicle and ensures that any vehicle defects are repaired in a timely manner. He/She performs regular maintenance and inspections on the company truck in an effort to keep the truck in peak operating condition. The Driver reports to and is fully accountable to the Site Supervisor however, may from time to time, be assigned to the Project Manager who will provide work instructions and on-the-job training.

Ability to adhere to company policies and rules; promotes the company's safety standards; does not take inappropriate risks. Maintains a feeling of pride in work; strives to achieve all goals. Must speak English well enough to communicate with other employees. Must be in sound physical condition and able to perform a physically demanding job. Must be willing to work 5 or 6 days a week with the normal workday being eight to ten hours. The hours of the Truck Driver are subject to change at the discretion of the Site Supervisor.

Preferred Qualifications



Roll-off experience an asset*
High school diploma or equivalent

Principal Responsibilities



Perform inspection and general maintenance of the vehicle in accordance with company policy to ensure tire pressure, fluid levels, safety equipment, gauges and controls are in proper working order Report any truck or equipment related problems to the Site Supervisor as soon as possible Keep the Site Supervisor informed of any potential problems Continuously monitor the condition of the vehicle to ensure it is operationally ready at all times to minimize down time Follow all required safety policies and procedures Ensure that work is completed as scheduled Work well with minimal supervision Readily follow work instructions as specified by immediate Supervisor Adhere to all company policies and procedures Exhibit professional behavior and maintain good working relationships with customers and fellow employees at all times Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications



Must provide Letter of Experience*
Class DZ Driver's license
Salary: From $25.00 per hour
