About the Role

As a Roll-Off Driver, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of waste and recycling materials to and from customer locations, landfills, and recycling facilities. The Roll Off Driver will be responsible for driving, inspecting, and managing disposal routes as dispatched. The Roll Off Driver will be required to manage a roll off bin and ensure the safe and effective operation of the truck.

Key Responsibilities

Operate roll-off trucks to transport waste containers and bins safely and efficiently and in compliance with company and regulatory standards Safely load, secure, and unload containers at designated locations; Transport roll-off containers to designated locations, ensuring timely delivery and pick-up Perform routine safety circle check inspection Drive Roll Off Trucks along designated commercial routes to collect various waste and construction debris Transport debris to a designated transfer station for disposal Responsible for inspecting and ensuring the safety of the drop off areas Operate hand tarp effectively and efficiently ensuring no debris exits the bins Ensure compliance with all transportation laws and procedures Provide great customer service to both internal and external customers Report immediately any unsafe accidents or incidents to supervisor (s) Responsible to attend and complete mandatory training and team meetings Timely reports of any containers and bin in need of repair or replacement Perform pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure compliance with safety standards Maintain accurate records of pickups, drop-offs, and vehicle maintenance and any incidents that occur during transportation Communicate effectively with dispatchers, customers, and team members regarding schedules and service needs Provide excellent customer service by addressing client concerns and ensuring timely collections Adhere to company policies and provincial transportation laws and regulations

Qualifications

Valid DZ Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with a clean driving record. We will require a driving abstract Air brake endorsement Minimum of 2 years of professional driving experience, preferably in waste management or transportation Ability to operate roll-off trucks and related equipment safely and effectively Strong knowledge of Ottawa and surrounding areas Physically fit to handle the demands of the job, including lifting and maneuvering containers Strong communication and time management skills

Documentation knowledge

Accident or incident reports Driver logbook Inspection report (pre-trip, en-route, post-trip) Maintenance and repair reports Trip reports
