What are we looking for?

We are looking for a coach for s

tudents in grades 1- 8.

You are the right candidate if you are

an energetic individual with an engaging personality

who is able to impart STEM learning in an innovative and fun environment. Our coaches are the lifeblood of our operation. You will join our team of coaches to teach hands on STEM projects.

Are you experienced in working with children? Do you enjoy teaching and building problem solving skills in young engineering minds? This could be the role for you.

Duties:

Impart STEM curriculum to students in Grades 1 to 8. You will be trained in the curriculum Productively engage a classroom of 4 to 6 students and creatively impart the lessons to students Troubleshoot and assist students with their lessons and programs Evaluate students' progress in every class and recommend areas of improvement Report to the center director on daily progress Maintain the high standard of education that we strive to achieve

Experience:

Prior FLL/VEX/WRO Robotics Competition experience (as a mentor, coach, or alumni). Verifiable experience in handling children Proficiency in

block

coding Exposure to basic electronics including

micro:bit

and

Arduino

Good to have: Ability to code in a text programming language such as

C++

or

Python

Good to have motor controllers, pneumatics, CAD (Fusion 360)and electronics

Other requirements:

Creative, energetic, positive, fun-loving, and kid-friendly Independent, self-motivated, and passionate to teach kids Volunteering or a year of teaching experience will be an asset Possess excellent oral communication skills Able to come to the business location in Ajax independently and on time Should be willing and able to undergo a vulnerable sector check and should clear such background check

Work Hours:

Weekdays

: Evening programs are typically between 4 PM and 8 PM on weekdays - although actual hours depends on student enrollment in any given hour.

Weekends

: Saturday's only from 10 AM to 1 PM. We are closed on Sunday's and for major holidays. The candidate is expected to be present at the center 15 mins before the class start time.
