Dairy Lane Systems started in 1990 as a Surge milking equipment dealer. Since that time, we have expanded our scope to include automated milking robots, stabling, manure management, plumbing and ventilation services. Most recently, we acquired 2 milking equipment dealerships in Western Canada. In addition to the milking equipment sales, service and installation business, we are also involved in the design, build and operation of renewable energy biogas plants (DLS Biogas), the construction of agricultural structures (DLS Structures) and the manufacturing of dairy farm equipment (DLS Manufacturing).

The successful candidate will have a strong welding background and be proficient in programming and operating a robotic welder. They will work efficiently with the fabrication/weld shop team and other DLS teams to create dairy parlour components for installation in dairy barns. This role is essential in ensuring that production processes run smoothly and efficiently while maintaining high-quality standards.

Job Requirements



Program, operate and monitor robotic welder to ensure optimal performance and quality output

Prepare material for fabrication, e.g. cutting, deburring, drilling holes

Monitor robotic systems during welding process to ensure consistent quality and efficiency

Conduct routine inspections on robotic welder and perform troubleshooting when necessary to prevent downtime and implement solutions effectively while ensuring safety

Utilize hand and power tools

Follow safety protocols and maintain a safe, clean and organized work area

Work with team members in order to improve shop efficiency

Provide quality workmanship consistent with company and industry standards

Other duties as assigned

Skills and Qualifications



Proven experience programming/operating robotic welder

Previous welding experience required - knowledge of welding processes (MIG, TIG, Stick)

Proficiency in evaluating weld quality and identifying high-quality welds

Previous farm/agricultural/dairy experience is an asset

Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings accurately

Basic math skills for measurement and calculations are essential

Forklift experience an asset

Strong attention to detail and focus on quality

A willingness to learn new skills and adapt to changing production needs is important

Must be able to work unsupervised and take full ownership of the job, come on the job and "get to it"

Ability to perform physical tasks that may require lifting, pushing, pulling, bending/stooping/crouching, kneeling, lifting up to 50lbs, standing for extended periods of time

Must be legally entitled to work and live in Canada

Must maintain a valid G driver's license and have your own vehicle as we are not on a bus route
