Role Summary

Reporting directly to the Robotics and Automation Manager. The Robot Testing Student is responsible for working with Fanuc and Doosan robots. conduct testing and ensure the robots run efficiently. Assist project engineers in assessing potential application of company projects and services to meet customer needs and preparing project specified documentations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supporting Engineering team to conduct robotic and automation testing
  • Loads fixtures with component parts for robotically finished products.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot existing programs
  • Maintains robots and fixtures in good condition
  • Troubleshoots, monitors, sets-up, maintains and assists in DOE data collection &
  • reporting.
  • Maintain good housekeeping standards throughout department and work area.
  • Communicate effectively with all associates of Magna SCFI.
Key Qualifications/Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:
  • College program related to robot programming or automation.
  • Hands-on experience in robotics and robotics troubleshooting preferred.
  • Ability to read drawings, manuals, and specifications.
  • Computer programming knowledge: C, Python, SQL, etc.
  • Demonstrable and strong command of the English language in both written and spoken forms.
Bonus Technical Skill:
  • Ability to program Fanuc Robot both On-Line and Off-Line
  • HandlingTool Operation and Programming is a strong asset.
  • FANUC\'s Certified Education (CERT) program is a strong asset
  • Experience with Fanuc Roboguide simulation tool and DCS settings is a strong asset.
  • Experience with Omron PLC is a strong asset.
  • Knowledge of Manufacturing Process & Assembly methods.
  • Able to create a Design of Experiment and test plan for product or process validation.
