The Corporation of the Township of North Huron is recruiting an

individual to fill the role of:

Roads & Landfill Operator

(Permanent Full-Time)

The Roads & Landfill Operator is responsible for performing a variety of public works tasks in the Township of North Huron, using heavy equipment in a safe and efficient manner. In addition, the Roads & Landfill Operator is responsible for the operation of a safe and orderly landfill site and provides general services at the Landfill Site in accordance with Township policies and procedures.

The ideal candidate will possess:

Secondary School Diploma or equivalent Valid class D driver's license with Z endorsement

Qualifications for Employment include:

Ability to work with little supervision Excellent customer service skills Ability to lift up to 50lbs Heavy Machinery certification or equivalent experience considered an asset Previous working experience and knowledge in construction and waste management/disposal practices Ontario Good Roads training considered an asset Experience and knowledge in vehicle and heavy equipment maintenance techniques Ability to operate a snow plow, road grader, other heavy equipment, power tools and hand tools safely and efficiently
Applicants must be prepared to work 40 hours per week. Further information on the position is available on the Township of North Huron website.

The rate of pay: $25.58 - $34.53 per hour
