Join the Township of Wellington North as a

Roads General Labourer - Summer, on a Seasonal Fixed Term Contract,

that will work from approximately May until end of August 2026. This position is subject to budget and grant approval through the Canada Summer Jobs program, and thus may be subject to change. Due to youth program funding, applications are encouraged from youth who are currently enrolled in school.

What You'll Do:

Maintain roads, sidewalks, parking areas, culverts and ditches. Assist with tree planting/removal and landscaping. Support bridge maintenance and construction tasks like sidewalk installation. Keep parks, cemeteries, and yard facilities in top shape. Operate and maintain tools, machinery and equipment safely.

What We're Looking For:

Ability to work independently and in a team.

Positive, professional attitude and excellent customer service skills.

Mechanical aptitude and safety conscious mindset.

Other bonus skills include but not required: enrolled in post secondary education, and experience with construction, engineering, municipal infrastructure, landscaping or parks operations.

Position Details:

This is a

Seasonal Fixed Term Contract

position, that works up to 40 hours per week.

Shifts will include early mornings, daytime, evenings, weekends and holidays.

Comfortable working in all weather conditions and on construction sites.

Role involves standing, walking, lifting, carrying and operating machinery.

Pay: $18.00 per hour
