  • Compiles, validates and records program data using Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and project management software to support data-driven decisions across Road Operations.
  • Prepares and updates maps, dashboards and reports to monitor progress and resource allocation across various maintenance programs.
  • Collaborates with the manager to analyze requirements for the annual gravel program, including budget allocation, material forecasting and program planning.
  • Coordinates aggregate pickup, delivery, and placement verification. Utilizes field data to confirm material quantities and locations, ensuring alignment with program specifications and quality standards. Prepares logistics plans to optimize delivery schedules and resource utilization.
  • Uses GIS software to calculate required material quantities and map distribution sites. Develops efficient routing plans and distribution maps to support optimal resource allocation across projects.
  • Provides project support for contracted services, including line painting, crack sealing, gravel crushing and asphalt paving.
  • Confirms contract compliance, conducts field inspections and verifies quality and progress.
  • Coordinates with contractors to meet project milestones and technical specifications.
  • Analyzes project data to evaluate performance, budget adherence and timelines. Produces progress reports, variance analyses and Key Performance Indicators (KPI's) to identify trends and inform program improvements. Provides data-driven recommendations for enhancing program outcomes.
  • Maintains inventory levels for all road signage and coordinates reordering to ensure regulatory compliance and adequate supplies. Keeps a digital inventory tracking system to monitor usage and proactively address demand.
  • Answers inquiries related to rural addressing signs, coordinating with internal departments to provide timely and accurate placements. Ensures responses adhere to established guidelines and address public concerns effectively.
  • Serves as a point of contact for contractors, coordinating daily updates and issue resolution. Provides project status updates to the manager and ensures clear communication of project expectations, timelines, and progress.
  • Assists in snow removal program coordination, including resource allocation, scheduling and emergency response planning. Supports operational needs during snow events to maintain roadway safety and efficiency.
  • Adheres to guidelines as set out in Leduc County's policies and administrative directives.
  • Accountable for working in compliance with the Alberta Occupational Health and Safety Act, Regulation and Code and participation in the Health, Safety and Wellness Program.
  • Performs related duties as required.
RequirementsWhat you need to succeedMust-have
  • A technical diploma in a related field.
  • Five years of experience.
  • Eligible to maintain membership of the Association of Science & Engineering Technology Professionals of Alberta (ASET), Certified Engineering Technologist (C.E.T.) or a Professional Technologist (P. Tech).
  • Ability to communicate complex technical information and provide consistent, friendly, professional customer service to internal and external customers in the face of ongoing change, regular interruptions and the pressure of deadlines.
  • Experience and knowledge with AutoCAD, Geographic Information System (GIS) and project management standards related to the construction industry.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • A valid Class 5 Alberta driver's license.
Nice to have
  • Working knowledge of database management and gravel standards.
  • Familiarity with municipal operations, and knowledge of rural communities.
