What You'll Do:



Operating with the utmost good faith and the customer's interests in mind, the Road Claims Representative II will directly investigate, evaluate, reserve, negotiate and resolve assigned claims in accordance with Best Practices of the Company. They must have knowledge in property, automobile and/or liability insurance. The Road Claims Representative II will attend the loss site, gather details of the loss, secure statements, review scopes, and work closely with both customers and service providers to bring claims to resolution.

The individual will analyze coverage and determine eligibility, and inform customers and brokers of the findings both verbally and in writing. They identify risks requiring underwriting reviews and notify underwriting accordingly. The Road Claims Representative II will focus primarily on fire, water and weather claims. They may conduct task investigations for the benefit of the Claims Examiners or Telephone Road Claims Representatives.



Responsibilities:



Review new losses and prepare investigation plan. Contact the insured to discuss loss details and arrange inspection appointment. Attend loss scene to confirm facts of loss through various investigation methods. Work with policyholder to explain claims process to ensure efficient claims experience. Secure statements with policyholders, third parties, independent witnesses as necessary. Secure photographs and diagrams of loss scenes. Collect evidence to preserve subrogation as necessary. Engage experts (engineers, appraisers, etc.) as needed to assist in determining facts. Evaluate liability and identify subrogation opportunities. Identify salvage opportunities and ensure efficient disposal. Obtain officials reports- policy, fire and medical providers. Obtain details of overall risk and relay any potential hazards/concerns to underwriting.

Requirements:



Candidates must reside in Canada and be authorized to work in Canada. Minimum of 5 years experience in the insurance industry in Property Claims. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail. Excellent time management skills and ability to meet deadlines. Adaptable with a "thrive mindset" and ability to work in a fast-paced changing environment. Extremely proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (specifically Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Teams) with the ability to learn new or updated software. Prior experience with Guidewire Suite an asset. High School diploma required. Post Secondary education preferred. CIP or currently working towards completion.

Salary:



The salary offered is estimated to be within the following range: $62,000 - $84,000
