Cardiac Rehab Clinic

Reporting to the Manager Rehabilitation and Healthy Lifestyles Program, you will be responsible for providing quality
nursing care to a patient population with predictable outcomes. As part of a multidisciplinary health care team, you
will practice within the Professional Standards of the College of Nurses of Ontario, the Philosophy of patient and
family centered care, mission vision, values and the policies of Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre. In
addition, you will be assist with organizing, planning and coordinating daily activities of the education, exercise, and
counseling programs within the Rehabilitation and Healthy Lifestyles Program. The Registered Nurse will participate
in the provision of all aspects of the program as required, including but not limited to regionally based activities,
participant assessment, and risk stratification.


Applicants must have the following qualifications:
Current unrestricted registration as a Registered Nurse with the College of Nurses of Ontario Current certification in BCLS Recent knowledge in Cardiovascular Nursing with experience in the care of complex patient populations, including, but not limited to: Pre?and?post PCI (Angioplasty), Coronary Artery Disease, Cardiac Catheterization, Cardioversion,
Cardiovascular Surgery, Heart Failure, Permanent Pacemaker Insertion and Palliative Inotropes
Ability to use the Nursing Process (assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation) in conjunction with her/his basic and ongoing knowledge to arrive at individualized care planning and delivery
Identify and recognize abnormal or unexpected patient responses and take appropriate action Ability to simultaneously manage multiple nursing interventions
Strong interprofessional and communication skills

In addition to the above qualifications, preference will be given to applicants who:
Have a certification, or recent continuing education in Cardiovascular Nursing

Salary Range: $39.070 to 56.000
