Complex Residential Care -HCA practicum (2 Instructors)

The clinical part of the HCA program focuses on creating block placement opportunities for students to consolidate and apply previously learned theory/skills gained in class and supervised laboratory within a clinical setting. Students will practice clinical and caregiving procedures with clients/residents under the direct supervision of a clinical instructor. Instructor Qualifications:



Current full practicing registration as LPN/RN/RPN with the BCCNM

Minimum two years of full-time nursing experience (1 year=1400 hours), with relevant knowledge of the Canadian health care system including

Experience in working with older adults with complex health needs. Experience or orientation (e.g., shadow shifts) in-home support and multi-level/complex care

Demonstrated ability to teach adult learners (PID diploma equivalent education or previous HCA course teaching experience with satisfactory references and student course evaluations.

Evidence of completion of coursework in Indigenous cultural safety and humility (eg, San'yas Anti-Racism Indigenous Cultural Safety Training or an alternative training program

Excellent verbal, written, and computer communication skills.?Experience in MS Teams and Moodle Learning platforms. Proven ability to work both independently and within a collaborative team environment.

Evidence of completion of the "Health Care Assistant Practice in BC" course, available on the Learning Hub, to be provided as part of orientation/onboarding. This ensures a current and accurate understanding of the HCA role within British Columbia.

Excellent verbal, written, and computer communication skills.?Experience in MS Teams and Moodle Learning platforms. Proven ability to work both independently and within a collaborative team environment.

Appointment to this position will require a formal criminal record check, the details of which may preclude an offer of employment being finalized. Instructors will be reporting to the HCA Program Manager.

Contract Dates: October 7, 2025 - November 26, 2025 (T, W, Th)


Schedule: Monday-Friday, 06:45 - 14:45


Salary: LPN: $39.50/hour



RN: $43.00 - $45.00/hour (based on teaching experience)
