The Registered Nurse provides a leadership role within the patient care team and provides care in situations in which the patient\'s condition is complex and the patient care outcomes are not predictable. Within the scope of practice, the Registered Nurse promotes health, assesses and provides care and treatment by supportive, preventative, therapeutic, palliative and rehabilitative means to attain or maintain optimal function for the patient.

Job Requirements:

Required:\xe2\x80\xa2 RN in good standing with current registration with the College of Nurse of Ontario\xe2\x80\xa2 Physical assessment - adult\xe2\x80\xa2 Minimum 3-5 years current Emergency/Critical Care related nursing\xe2\x80\xa2 Cardiac arrhythmia interpretation\xe2\x80\xa2 I.V. therapy (thrombolysis, etc.)\xe2\x80\xa2 Blood glucose monitoring\xe2\x80\xa2 Mechanical Ventilation\xe2\x80\xa2 Canadian Triage & Acuity Scale Certification (CTAS)\xe2\x80\xa2 Certified Defibrillation/Pacemaker (apply external temp);(adjust internal temp)\xe2\x80\xa2 Electrocardiogram (E.C.G.) - taking and interpretation of an E.C.G.\xe2\x80\xa2 Central lines and blood sampling from a central line\xe2\x80\xa2 I.V. push meds STN - Level 1-3\xe2\x80\xa2 P.C.A pumps\xe2\x80\xa2 Computerized documentation\xe2\x80\xa2 Certified in phlebotomy starts\xe2\x80\xa2 Certified in dispensing of Meds\xe2\x80\xa2 Coronary Care - Level 1 and 2\xe2\x80\xa2 Must be able to function both independently and as an active member of the multi-disciplinary team in caring for all levels of patient acuity required.\xe2\x80\xa2 Demonstrated commitment to ensure a culture of safety and prevention of adverse health events\xe2\x80\xa2 Commitment to continuing education on an annual basis to demonstrate commitment to quality improvement\xe2\x80\xa2 Demonstrated satisfactory work performance and attendance history Preferred:\xe2\x80\xa2 Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (A.C.L.S.)\xe2\x80\xa2 Current Paediatric Advanced Life Support (P.A.L.S.)\xe2\x80\xa2 Current Trauma Nursing Critical Care Core Course (T.N.C.C.) or equivalent\xe2\x80\xa2 Current Emergency Nursing Paediatric Course (E.N.P.C.)\xe2\x80\xa2 Emergency Certificate \xe2\x80\xa2 Critical Care Certificate\xe2\x80\xa2 Certified in the 5 Level Adult & Paediatric Triage Asset:\xe2\x80\xa2 Bilingual - English and French Additional Information: Union: ONA Posting Number: 23-155 Number of Positions Available: 3 Department: ICU Hours of Work: Permanent Casual. Must be available to work shifts including days, evenings, nights and weekends. Shifts and hours may change according to departmental requirements and as per the ONA collective agreement.
