POSITION: REGISTERED NURSE

Integrated Stroke Unit/Telemetry (Acute Stroke, Stroke Rehabilitation)

REPORTS TO: Manager, Critical Care, Telemetry/ISU and Cardiorespiratory
DATE REQUIRED: As soon as possible
SALARY: $39.07 to $56.00 per hour
QUALIFICATIONS:
Current registered member in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario
EXPERIENCE:
Recent clinical experience (minimum two years) in Stroke Care/Rehabilitation preferred
Recent/related courses, in-services in Stroke Care/Rehabilitation nursing preferred
SKILLS/ABILITIES:
Ability to plan, organize and problem solve
Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development
Ability to work independently and as a team member
Excellent communication skills, written and verbal
Excellent physical assessment skills
Ability to understand and interpret typical and atypical telemetry and cardiac monitoring preferred
REQUIRED SKILLS (to be completed within 3 months of hire):
Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
Recent Basic Cardiac Arrhythmia course
Recent 12 lead ECG interpretation course
Applicants may be eligible for Canada Student Loan Forgiveness and Tuition Support Program for Nurses programs
Successful applicants who have not yet been employed as a nurse within Ontario will be eligible to receive a commitment bonus of $25,000, in exchange for a 2 year commitment of service
