Primary Accountabilities
The Application Database Administrator (DBA) is responsible for design, support and maintenance of RMV's database infrastructure, with a focus on the Oracle databases which are part of the existing business application (RMV3). As we transform and modernize this application, the DBA will provide key support in ensuring the ongoing operational stability of the RMV3 application database and support for data synchronization and migration to new services. Working closely with the existing database team and the modernization program, the DBA plays a key role in the successful transformation and delivery of services which impact the majority of Nova Scotians.
The DBA will also provide guidance to developers and analysts on database and database application integration best practices. Responsibilities also include planning, design, implementation, and maintenance within the constraints of government's Technical Architecture and Standards which form the foundation for all of government's computer systems and applications.
