About KPMG Forensic:

Using cutting-edge technology and methodologies, KPMG Forensic professionals help clients to manage the risks of money laundering, sanctions, fraud, misconduct, and regulatory non-compliance; maintain organizational integrity; manage reputational risk; address and simplify issues related to litigation (including avoidance); and limit financial exposure to loss. We help uncover the facts and support in creating clarity when people and organizations do not agree, or where financial and business behavior does not comply with expectations. Our professionals can offer support to help our clients investigate allegations of litigation support, financial crime, fraud and misconduct, enhance their financial crime programs, provide analytical services, and help meet regulatory requirements.

KPMG Forensic is a core part of KPMG\'s Risk Consulting practice, which helps clients to improve risk intelligence and decision making, protect financial and reputational assets, and enhance business value through a range of trusted, digitally powered, and forward-thinking solutions for navigating business risks.

KPMG\'s Forensic Data Analytics team has an exciting opportunity for new grads to join our team full time in 2023.

What you will do

With KPMG Forensic, in this highly specialized group you will have a unique opportunity to be exposed to a fast-paced specialization that will allow you to combine your deep analytical and mathematical knowledge with forensic and investigative skills and leverage data analytic tools and techniques. The variety of assignments will provide you with the opportunity to gain exposure to many interesting and challenging situations. As KPMG is committed to capability development and continuous learning, this role provides an exceptional opportunity for both formal and hands-on training.

You will assist in financial crime analytics, investigations, quantification of damages, fraud risk management, litigation support, data analytics support, insurance claims quantification, regulatory compliance, and similar assignments in both the public and private sector, with a focus on learning the required skills and knowledge to progress in this dynamic and growing specialization.

This role includes but is not limited to:

  • Assist clients such as financial institutions, FinTechs, and Cryptocurrency organizations to build, optimize, transform, validate, and enhance their financial crimes technology solutions
  • Help clients adapt existing technology to meet changing operational requirements with Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Fraud detection compliance systems
  • Performance of and assistance in project tasks, including for example: financial analysis, document review, interviews, leveraging data analytics tools and techniques, report and internal working paper preparation, and file organization and administration,
  • Assisting in client/engagement acceptance
  • Assisting with the development of engagement and project plans
  • Performance of and assistance in project tasks, including for example: financial analysis, document review, interviews, leveraging data analytics tools and techniques, report and internal working paper preparation, and file organization and administration,
  • Participating in marketing and business development activities,
  • Sharing in the administrative tasks related to the operation of KPMG Forensic

What you bring to the role

You\'re a highly motivated student who strives for excellence, innovation and collaboration. You have a strong academic record and are committed to achieving your learning advanced analytical techniques.

Keys to your success:
  • Recently completed a bachelor\'s degree from an accredited college/university in a technology or quantitative oriented field such as Computer Science, Engineering, Math, Statistics, Data Analytics, Applied Intelligence or Finance
  • Strong relationship-building skills that will enable you to easily interact with clients, colleagues, and the wider community.
  • A commitment to continual learning - developing new skills, taking on new responsibilities and broadening your knowledge through research.
  • The ability to provide crucial consultation and analysis for the variety of clients you will serve.
  • Excellent written communication skills; able to demonstrate a strong business acumen, as well as an innovation-driven and a solution-oriented mindset.
  • Beneficial software/programming languages include but are not limited to Databases (SQL Server, Oracle, Teradata, MongoDB, Spark), Modelling & Analytics (Python, R, SAS, SPSS), Business Intelligence (Tableau, SpotFire, Alteryx, QlikView), Microsoft Access, and Visual Basic
