The Diversified Analog Solutions team located in Ottawa, Canada is home to Skyworks\' design center for RF front-end solutions. Wifi Modules Design team has a challenging opportunity for a university student available for a 12 month work term starting in January 2023. The selected candidate will be involved in verification, tuning, and optimization of the front-end modules designed for WiFi7 application in a real hands-on environment. The position will enable the intern to gain experience of working on cutting edge Wifi Modules in one of pioneer companies in module design. This position will provide the student with a well-rounded introduction to the RF electronic component design environment and suits individuals seeking a career in the field of RF and analog integrated circuits

Job Responsibilities

  • Contributing to the research and development of advanced analog and RF integrated circuits,
  • lab testing of circuits, presentation of design expectations/results, Circuit simulation, and participation in design reviews.
  • Assist in new product testing and characterization, tuning, and microsurgery.
  • Assist in new product engineering and design activities.
  • Assisting full time engineering group members with their project assignments.
Job Requirements

The candidate
  • Must be currently enrolled in a BS, MS, or Ph.D. academic program (Electrical Engineering or related)
  • Knowledge of RF design fundamentals, RF measurement, analog circuit design, and introductory electromagnetics.
  • Understand basic IC building blocks like PA, LNA, switch, etc,
  • Understand design parameters like S-parameters, noise, non-linearity, stability, etc.
  • Familiar with common u test equipment such as VNA, and Spectrum Analyzer.
  • Desirable knowledge/experience includes familiarity with ADS, HFSS, Cadence, or similar design tools.
  • Self starter with a strong work ethic and excellent time management skills.
  • Good communication, and documentation skills.
