Summary:
We are looking for a highly motivated and energetic RF Design Technician to join our Engineering Team. Preference will be given to candidates who have good verbal and written communication skills, are team players, are detail-oriented, hands-on and have a natural drive to deliver accurate, reliable work. As an RF Design Technician, you will work closely with RF engineers to prototype, test, and validate RF components and systems used in various industries including public safety, base stations and telecom infrastructure. Your role will be essential in ensuring
high-performance, rugged, and standards-compliant products reach the field.
What You'll Do:
Support the design and prototyping of RF components and systems.
Build and test RF prototypes under the directions of a lead engineer.
Prepare markup drawings based on the prototype design.
Perform standard test procedures with basic understanding of test specifications and RF testing fundamentals.
Work independently on troubleshooting, tuning, testing and repair of standard RF products using a solid knowledge of RF testing fundamentals and equipment such as VNAs, spectrum analyzers, signal generators, power amplifiers/meters and others
Assist in carrying out other testing such as thermal/environmental and compliance
Commission and / or troubleshoot and repair Sinclair filter products at the customer sites
Maintain engineering lab equipment and ensure a clean, safe, and organized workspace.
Document test procedures, results, and provide feedback to engineering teams.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including production and mechanical, electrical, manufacturing and quality engineering.
What You'll Bring:
Diploma or Degree in Electrical or Electronics Technology or equivalent.
A minimum of 5 years of industrial experience in electrical/RF prototyping, testing and product development
Has solid understanding of tuning and testing procedures, specifications and associated documentation.
Must be familiar with common electronic and RF measuring instruments including but not limited to digital multimeters, signal generators, vector network analyzers, spectrum analyzers noise meters, etc.
Prior experience with RF chambers, thermal chambers and thermal data loggers is a bonus.
Able to travel to customer sites.
Able to read and follow assembly drawings.
Able to do fine soldering work.
Must be able to lift 25 Kg from floor to normal bench height.
Must have visual acuity at normal reading distance (corrective lenses permitted).
Must be familiar with the use of common hand tools.
Experience with machine tools (lathe, milling machine, etc.) is a bonus.
Must be able to work overtime and/or shift work.
Excellent attention to detail.
