Job Description

The Rexdale Community Health Centre (RCHC) is a multi-service centre providing primary health care, health promotion and community support services, including settlement and community development activities for families, children, youth, adults and seniors of diverse backgrounds.

Primary Function:

The primary goal of the REX Pride Program is to provide support to 2SLGBTQ+ and racialized youth in the Rexdale/North Etobicoke community by providing programs, individual support, community engagement and education to help fill the gap that exists for this silenced, ignored, and vulnerable community. In addition, there is a focus on creating a safe space and giving youth who identify as 2SLGBTTIQQPA the opportunity to utilize artistic mediums and create a message for social change in the community.

Position Overview:

Working as part of the Youth and Family Services Team, and responsible to the REX Pride Program Coordinator, this position works to support all aspects of the planning and implementing of 2SLGBTQ+ and racialized youth- specific programming and related individual supports provided to youth partiyouth-specificipating in the REX Pride Program. The position will be responsible for supporting planning and coordination, outreach, youth supports/referrals and co-facilitation of core program QMAP (Queer Media Arts Program) as well as Community High School Programs.

Key Responsibilities



STAFF TEAM MAINTENANCE:



Participate in the successful recruitment, retention, training, and support of Program Facilitators, Case Manager, volunteers, partner staff and placement youths. Meet regularly with the Program Facilitators and Case Manager, providing both formal and informal supervision and support, as well as conduct performance appraisals. Facilitate staff team decision-making and provide support and direction to the Program Facilitators, Case Manager, volunteers and youths. Facilitate decision and resolution of problem/issues/concern within staff team.

ADMINISTRATION:



Develop and implement strategies to strengthen community and parent involvement in youth's development Organize registration, intake, orientations, events, trips, info sessions, and workshops Ensure systems are in place to facilitate communication (youth, parents, partners, staff, volunteers, clinical supervisor); monitor and evaluate effectiveness. Provide regular reports as necessary and on time. Identify gaps in service delivery and develop strategies via program development, partnerships, advocacy or external resources Work with Program Team to ensure the information needed for monitoring/evaluation is accurate/current (including participation , care plans, system navigation and referrals Complete administrative documentation; ensure program activities, attendance, referrals, and challenges are recorded and entered Maintain professional competence via professional development, peer support, supervision Provide additional oral/written reports to program staff (team meetings, monthly reports, etc.) Ensure all RCHC policies and procedures are adhered to.

PROGRAM PLANNING and IMPLEMENTATION



Engage with individuals, groups, and partners to plan and implement strategies; elicit feedback from team to evaluate support. Ensure youth safety, engagement, and program effectiveness through monitoring and team support Develop processes to support/motivate volunteers and staff; recruit, coordinate, and schedule community/partner staff. Identify trends/needs from records and feedback; ensure monitoring and evaluation data is accurate/current Perform other duties and committee work as assigned Outreach and engage 2SLGBTQ+ youth and allies in Rexdale/North Etobicoke; attend community meetings, liaise/network with organizations (schools, police, etc.) Plan to facilitate a nd evaluate weekly QMAP and high school programs; provide support, referrals, and informal counselling Demonstrate anti racist/anti-oppressive and equitable practice; adhere to Centre policies (confidentiality, AODA, health/ safety) Assist in developing/implementing the CEE program to help local orgs/businesses create inclusive environments for the 2SLGBTQ+ community Secure space, resources, and food for programs; budget for resources; maintain routines for use Provide youth with information, referrals, and support; connect to opportunities (e.g., QMAP)

Qualifications:



Post-secondary education in Social Services or related field, or equivalent combination of education/experience Experience working/mentoring with 2SLGBTQ+ youth and youth from racialized communities Experience in program development and evaluation; experience in outreach, networking, partnerships Experience in staff supervision Ability to develop program budgets and monitor program spending Experience providing front-line services for youth Experience with small group dynamics, facilitation and presentations to larger groups Understanding of one-on-one relationship building; issues affecting diverse 2SLGBTQ+ youth in North Etobicoke Knowledge of community and social service resources for youth Strong oral and written communication for different audiences Ability to work effectively with youth, stakeholders, institutions; ability to work in a team and independently Competence with Windows, MS Office, web browsers, and social media (Instagram, Discord) Flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends Ability to work within the values, goals, mission, and policies of RCHC Identifying as part of the 2SLGBTQ+ and/or racialized and/or Rexdale community is an asset

Salary Range:

$28.48 to $34.32 hourly (based on experience),
