Job Description

Robert Half is seeking an Accounting Clerk to work in the Hi Tech Engineering industry, whose duties will be matching invoices to purchase orders/ vouchers, data entry, and assisting with Accounts Payable (A/P) and Accounts Receivable (A/R). This position is in the Mississauga, Ontario area. This position offers opportunities for career advancement and is best suitable for candidates seeking an efficient, team-oriented environment. Key responsibilities
- Rectify discrepancies by checking all possible sources of disagreement, reconstructing probable actions, and recognizing the effect on other accounts; prepare correction documents as required
- Help Accounts Payable: vendor invoices and disbursement filing, A/P invoice matching & filing
- Compose statements and reports that require utilization of a wide collection of sources
- See to the proper coding of documents that require knowledge in determining proper classification of expenditure codes and accounting codes
- Collaborate with Accounts Receivable: process daily invoices/credit, apply cash receipt, and help with collection of past due balance
- General accounting: help with G/L account reconciliation and month-end closing, other ad hoc projects
- Post financial figures to journals and ledgers
- Solid understanding of Microsoft Excel

- Credit experience preferred

- Ability to multitask efficiently and prioritize work

- AA or BS/BA in Accounting or related field preferred

- Data entry, document management, file creation and previous records experience required

- Spreadsheet and ERP system experience is ideal, but not required
