COMMUNITY RELATIONS SPECIALIST ACCOUNTABILITY OBJECTIVE: Under the direction of the Executive Director, develop and implements home-specific marketing and sales programs to achieve occupancy targets by employing a relationship-focused sales approach. BACKGROUND/QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum grade 12.
  • Post-secondary education with a preference for business administration, with a major in sales, marketing, communication, or public relations, or a background in an industry related to the position: real estate, healthcare, or sales.
  • Minimum five years of business experience, preferably in retirement, hospitality, healthcare, or consumer sales sectors.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in the English language.
  • Must be a self-starter.
  • Must have a valid Ontario driver\xe2\x80\x99s license and be willing to drive your own vehicle.
  • Must have proficiency with computers and be comfortable using Excel.
  • Must be available for a flexible schedule, which will include weekends and/or evenings.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Participates in and contributes to the Quality Improvement program at the home.
  • Markets residential suites in accordance with established sales procedures to ensure occupancy targets are met.
  • Develops both new and existing potential resident contacts through a structured marketing and follow-up program.
  • Facilitates and ensures a smooth transition for new residents:
  • Prepares and processes Tenancy Agreements accurately.
  • Reviews Information Package and CHIP with POAs
  • Schedules pre-move-in health-care assessments with the DOC and ADOC or designate.
  • Coordinates move-ins and room preparation.
  • Maintains CRM reports and Census and keeps them up to date.
  • Collects and forwards pertinent information to other departments and ensures notification to the Executive Director.
  • Coordinates both internal and external public relations activities. Conducts tours and acts as the internal and external referral source for all sales and marketing contacts and activities.
  • Maintain quality relationships by providing support, information, and guidance, leading to future qualified referrals.
  • Provide constructive input to the Management Team regarding services to residents and families ensuring that our standards are met and exceeded.
MARKETS THE HOME:
  • Develops and implements an annual marketing plan, and updates and reviews it as needed.
  • Enhances the home\xe2\x80\x99s community awareness/image through public speaking engagements.
  • Prepares a monthly newsletter.
  • Acts as a representative at community functions as appropriate.
  • Maintains ongoing contact with the POAs/Family Members of potential residents.
  • Maintains statistics to evaluate sales and marketing effectiveness:
  • Maintains complete and accurate sales records in accordance with established procedures and programs.
  • Provide input on occupancy projections, suite rental rates, and increases via competitive data.
  • Maintain an awareness of industry trends and their impact on the residence
  • Prepares marketing and sales reports for submission to the Executive Director every week.
  • Meets regularly with the Executive Director and other staff to review marketing plans on an ongoing basis.
  • Conducts a full and detailed competitor survey at least once a year
  • Implements the marketing objectives, policies, and procedures of the home.
  • Provides resident information for all departments by maintaining up-to-date resident room records, occupancy, and daily census and informs all departments of resident movement/move-ins/move-outs.
  • Receives and updates CHIP and Tenancy Agreement as needed.
  • Ensures that vacant suites are clean and attractive and ready to be shown.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned or delegated by the Executive Director.
  • Complies with the Occupational Health and Safety Act, Workplace Safety and Insurance Act, and Workplace Hazardous Material Information System.
  • This includes recognizing health and safety hazards, reporting incidents, and fulfilling responsibilities under the applicable legislation.
  • Complies with all relevant policies and procedures.
  • Completes all required annual mandatory training/education.
