Tasks

Assign sales workers to duties Hire and train or arrange for training of staff Order merchandise Authorize return of merchandise Establish work schedules Sell merchandise Prepare reports on sales volumes, merchandising and personnel matters Resolve issues that may arise, including customer requests, complaints and supply shortages Organize and maintain inventory Supervise and co-ordinate activities of workers Manage cash Conduct performance reviews Supervise office and volunteer staff Implement price and credits policies Develop and implement marketing strategies Determine merchandise and services to be sold Determine staffing requirements Manage staff and assign duties Study market research and trends to determine consumer demand, potential sales volumes and effect of competitors' operations on sales Locate, select and procure merchandise for resale Plan budgets and monitor revenues and expenses Recruit, hire and supervise staff and/or volunteers Plan, organize, direct, control and evaluate daily operations
