POSITION SUMMARY



STORE OPERATORS MUST HAVE A BUSINESS LICENSE OR BE WILLING TO ACQUIRE ONE.



Store Operators are responsible for having or acquiring proper documentation to comply with provincial and federal regulations including a BNR registration, re-sale certificate, sales tax license, commercial bank account, access to an accredited payroll service. Workplace Safety and Insurance Board certificate and federal and provincial (if applicable) tax ID numbers.



THIS IS A CONTRACT COMMISSION BASED POSTION


Candidates must have experience in retail business management, operating retail stores, sales and using Microsoft software.



Responsibilities include but are not limited to:



Inspecting the store location site and providing information about it to Calendar Club. Hiring and training a crew to meet the delivery truck, unload it and build the store according to instructions provided. Hiring and training employees to help operate the store day to day. Operators are responsible for ALL labour costs and will need to determine a method of payroll (weekly/bi-weekly, salary) using an accredited payroll service. Communicating with mall management to inquire about permits that might be needed, storage space, and any other special needs or requests. Finding offsite storage to hold empty skids, boxes, and totes if there is no storage at the mall for this. This may require the use of a rental truck. All of these empty skids, boxes and totes will be needed and reused when you pack up the store just before the end of the lease. Building and merchandising the store according to the instructions and plan-o-grams. Preparing and arranging daily deposits. Completing the End of Day process on the POS and depositing cash to a bank account assigned by Calendar Club. Ensuring that merchandise is straightened and re-stocked by staff to ensure the store looks its best. Operators must ensure the store is up to date with promotional signage and marketing materials as needed and requested. Ensuring that all store employees provide exemplary customer service including greeting all customers, passing out promotional products, and wearing the aprons or lanyards provided. Tearing down/packing up at the end of the season. This includes ensuring that you have enough staff to help you complete this task on time and well.

As a Calendar Club of Canada Operator, you have the opportunity to manage your own business while reducing the risks of "doing it on your own."

Inventory



You earn commission as you sell the inventory. We pay commissions on a schedule indicated in the Seasonal Operator Agreement Low inventory risk. Calendar Club pays for the inventory and has it shipped to the store's location. As an Operator you are responsible for keeping it safe. Your company is responsible for any missing inventory or unauthorized discounts Scan in each license plate (packing slip) in each box when it arrives so we know the items have physically arrived in the store Replenishment of stock and an excellent variety of products Returnable for credit at the end of the lease Freight paid for product and fixtures if done within scope Proven Operations System Manuals Instructions for how to build the store initially and how to pack it up later Planogram provided per store A POS (Point of Sale) computer system provided. Return it at store closing.

In-store signage, advertising throughout the mall, promotional graphics

Fixtures



All fixtures (shelves, etc.) designed for each concept to display products are supplied Outbound and fixture return freight is paid Detailed assembly instructions

Leasing



Best available locations in malls

Extensive real estate connections



Calendar Club pays the rent

Support



Training Access to support by phone, email, or virtual video chats Access to our library of videos, processes, instructions and regular meeting recordings Updates by email regarding promotions, tips, goals and actual sales achieved Daily reports showing % damages, % returns, % customer data gathered, etc. Daily shipping notifications and inventory Regular meetings to share updates and answer questions.
