Store Manager



General Summary:

The Store Manager is the face of our Store! They are expected to be present in every aspect of the day-to-day business, both leading by example and developing their team. The Store
Manager is accountable for all the Stores KPIs including sales, conversion, payroll productivity, and shrink. A positive attitude, leadership mindset and a team building approach to business are a must. The
Store Manager takes advantage of opportunities and is always responsible for their own training and development!

Reports to Operations Manager

Sales and Customer Service

o Be the face of the business o Be present on the Sales Floor with a positive, outgoing and encouraging attitude! o Share with customers what is going on in the Store today (sales, feature products, upcoming events, environmental causes, and initiatives) o Personally, model sales and customer service standards o Drive sales by developing personal relationships with customers and stake holders o Gracefully transition sales to your selling team when appropriate o Motivate team to reach sales and performance targets daily, weekly and monthly o Train, develop and hold your sales team accountable to core customer service and selling standards

Merchandising

o Be personally responsible for the appearance of your store at all times o Use sales reporting resources to continually assess performance of displays o Coach and hold the team accountable to sales floor maintenance standards o Hang signage to Elements' standards o Tell a consistent story when merchandising o Assess displays for abundance and clarity o Identify and encourage merchandising talent within your store o Work seamlessly with Patagonia corporate merchandising team and give full support of the store when they are on site

Store Operations

o Understand, operate and train POS and Store Ops systems o Monitor Headquarters and Voucher client, troubleshooting as needed o Direct fulfilment of incoming Web orders. Monitor transfer process and be accountable for accuracy, adjusting physical inventory as needed o Oversee Landing of product. Be accountable for timeliness and accuracy o Monitor incoming and outgoing transfers and return to supplier shipments. Be accountable for timeliness and accuracy o Oversee Warranty and Repair process in Store and give best possible customer service o Use customer Wishlist to increase sales and customer satisfaction. Hold team accountable to core customer service standards o Be accountable for BOH organization and cleanliness

Communication

o Communicate effectively, professionally and with positivity to all Stakeholders via email, phone and during in person interactions o Respond to communication in a timely manner up and down the accountability chain o Answer phones in a welcoming manner stating your name and location o Provide thoughtful and professional daily sales feedback via the Daily Sales Report o Hold staff accountable to all internal and external communication standards o Pass on all inquiries for marketing, business to business collaboration, environmental initiatives and large group or corporate sales to the corporate team o Communicate corporate directives to staff and hold them accountable o Participate constructively in touch base conversations with staff and the corporate team

Marketing

o Work with the Marketing Manager to produce local content for social media channels o Pass marketing opportunities that present themselves at the Store level up the chain for consideration o Assess marketing opportunities at the Store level and collaborate with Marketing

Manager to bring opportunities to fruition o Manage Store donations budget o Manage In Store Events in conjunction with the Marketing and Operations Managers o Be aware of social media and marketing across all channels. Be able to educate staff and customers accordingly

Staff and Scheduling

o Manage and schedule Staff for productivity to support the needs of the business o Manage hiring and recruiting to support the needs of the business o Complete Payroll accurately and submit to Corporate in a timely manner o Schedule and support events that focus on staff appreciation. Manage budgeted expenses accordingly

Staff Training and Development

o Schedule 1:1 with Staff monthly or as needed to address training and development o Schedule 1:1 with ASM bi-weekly to discuss collaboration, training, development and the work of the building o Execute new hire on boarding, deliver and schedule training plans o Pursue your own training based on your own growth and development plan o Set up PK sessions (with Reps) seasonally o Develop Selling Skills/Contests and Scavenger Hunts for staff engagement and development o Organize All Store Staff Meetings quarterly or as needed to support the business o Conduct Performance reviews when appropriate o Issue Conversation records as behavior and performance dictate o Develop a corrective action plan and hold staff accountable when necessary o Have a succession plan for all the Store's roles and responsibilities

Inventory Management

o Have a deep knowledge of the Store's inventory, know what is in stock and what is on the come o Communicate with Inventory manager to help manage short falls and excess inventory o Monitor shrink and use inventory control best practices to ensure profitability o Give feedback to corporate team regarding best sellers, slow movers and seasonal buys o Suggest alternative items to address inventory shortages in key product areas

Financial

o Open/Close registers consistent with Elements processes and procedures o Accurately execute and track Cash Drops o Deliver bank deposits (as per schedule) and record deposit records for financials o Monitor day end reporting for accuracy, investigate discrepancies and report o Deliver month end reporting documents accurately and in a timely manner

Budgeting

o Administer monthly supplies budget o Administer monthly donations budget o Administer monthly merchandising budget o Administer monthly Staff appreciation budget

Productivity

o Drive sales and motivate the team to reach and exceed monthly sales targets o Be accountable for Inventory control best practices that minimize Store shrink
o Schedule the Staff to address the work of the building most productively, balancing payroll hours with traffic and sales
o Monitor Store's expense budget for cost and efficiency o Hire to support needs of the business o Recruit talent and develop a succession plan

Leadership and Support of the Company Vision

o The Store Manager is accountable for the direct leadership of the Store o Lead the team with positivity that is directed towards the grow of the individual, the

Store and the Company o Follow corporate directives leading by example. Communicate initiatives to staff and holding the team accountable o Bring suggestions for material improvement of the business to the attention of the

Operations and General Managers o Represent the Elements Vision to all Stakeholders o Address negative comments by staff, customers and Stakeholders in a way that is constructive and supports the company vision

Facilities

o Be responsible for performing, scheduling and reporting on the general maintenance of the Store o Create a cleaning schedule for the team and be accountable for the Store's cleanliness o Organize and support Snow Removal as needed o Be responsible for scheduling window washing service (third party) as needed o Order store supplies. Be accountable to the supply budget and record expenses appropriately o Be the primary contact for the Store's alarm system. Organize first response for alarm events and be accountable for staff alarm access (adding to or removing from the list as necessary) o Establish a positive relationship with Landlords/property managers, functioning as the primary point of contact for facilities and maintenance o Maintain the Emergency contact list and keep list up to date as events warrant

Environmental Awareness/Activism

o Enviro board, maintain speak to and train staff o Behave in an environmentally conscious way and help the store create an environmentally friendly workspace o Reduce, reuse, and recycle o Understand our supplier's stance on the environment, and be able to engage customers with conversations about the environmental benefits of our products (i.e. recycled materials, regenerative cotton, reduced carbon footprint etc.) o Be able to engage with our customers and inform them about the work our environmental partners in the community are doing and the initiatives we are supporting o Support environmental petitions/calls to action by soliciting customer input

Qualifications

o Previous experience in retail store management preferred o Demonstrates an understanding of retail merchandising concepts o A strong leader who will take initiative o Good problem-solving skills o Ability to build effective teams and motivate Staff o Excellent verbal and written communication skills o Microsoft Excel and Word proficient o Familiarity with our brands, the activities they promote and lifestyles they encourage o Ability to adapt quickly and react positively to the needs of the business o Willingness to set and maintain high standards for performance

Physical Requirements

o Be able to safely lift boxes up to 50 lbs. o Be comfortable climbing and working on a ladder o Stand and be on your feet for extended periods of time o Be available to work weekends and holidays to support the needs of the business

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $48,000.00 per year
