Position Summary:
The
Retail Sales Representative
plays a vital role in enhancing Pulford's mission by supporting daily retail operations and delivering an exceptional customer experience. This role blends customer service, merchandising, and operational accountability within an inclusive, people-centered environment. The ideal candidate is service-oriented, detail-focused, and motivated by meaningful work. Key Responsibilities:
Customer Experience & Sales
Assist customers with product information, pricing, and merchandise selection in a welcoming, customer-focused manner.
Promote a positive in-store experience that reflects Pulford's values of respect, inclusion, and community engagement.
Collect and document customer feedback to support continuous service improvement.
Point-of-Sale & Cash Handling
Operate point-of-sale (POS) systems accurately and efficiently.
Process cash, debit, and credit transactions in accordance with financial controls.
Reconcile daily sales, digital payments, and cash balances at the end of each shift.
Prepare and submit daily sales summaries for review.
Inventory & Store Operations
Restock shelves and maintain organized, visually appealing product displays.
Monitor inventory levels and report low-stock or high-demand items promptly.
Conduct routine inventory counts and support scheduled stock audits.
Maintain accurate daily logs, including inventory adjustments and supply requests.
Merchandising & Store Standards
Ensure store cleanliness and visual presentation meet organizational standards.
Support merchandising initiatives that enhance sales and customer engagement.
Team Collaboration
Participate in team meetings focused on service excellence, operational improvements, and inclusive employment outcomes.
Collaborate respectfully with colleagues and supported employees to foster a positive team environment.
Qualifications & Skills
Proven experience in a retail, sales, or customer service environment.
High school diploma or equivalent is required.
Understanding of inventory stocking protocols.
Knowledge of cash reconciliation, inventory control, and sales transactions.
Ability to work primarily in a community-based retail environment with frequent standing, walking, and lifting to 25 lbs.
Empathic listening and clear communication abilities.
The capacity to offer supportive personnel constructive direction and mentoring.
Excellent cooperation, problem-solving, and organizing skills.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in handling cash and maintaining records.
