Job Overview:



The Retail Sales & Design Consultant plays a key role in guiding customers through the selection and design process for both flooring and window coverings. This position combines expert product knowledge with a strong sense of style and customer service to deliver a seamless and enjoyable shopping experience. Responsibilities include in-store and in-home consultations, order processing, and collaboration with internal teams to ensure successful project execution from concept to completion.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Customer Engagement & Design Consultation

Greet and assist customers, understanding their flooring and window covering needs, lifestyle, and aesthetic preferences. Provide personalized product and design recommendations based on budget, style, and function. Offer guidance on color coordination, material suitability, light control, and layout planning. Follow up with customers on quotes, samples, and project inquiries.
Sales & Order Processing

Prepare and present detailed estimates, quotes, and design proposals for both flooring and window coverings. Process customer orders accurately, ensuring correct product specifications and pricing. Assist with financing options, credit applications, and payment collection when required.
In-Home Measurements & Site Consultation

Coordinate, schedule, and conduct in-home measurements for flooring and window coverings. Evaluate job site conditions to ensure accurate planning and design feasibility.
Product Knowledge & Inventory Awareness

Stay current on flooring and window covering trends, vendor offerings, and promotional materials. Communicate product availability and timelines to customers. Track stock levels and assist with sample and display management.
Project Coordination & Communication

Collaborate with the point of contact for installation and interact with warehouse and service teams to align on scheduling and service expectations. Monitor project timelines and keep customers informed throughout the process.
Documentation & Reporting

Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, design details, and order information to facilitate a smooth handover throughout the sales process. Attend sales and team meetings; provide updates on project status and performance as needed.
Customer Support & Quality Assurance

Address and resolve customer concerns in a professional and timely manner, escalating issues when necessary to ensure prompt resolution. Conduct follow-ups after installation to ensure satisfaction and gather feedback.
Showroom Maintenance & Merchandising

Ensure showroom displays for flooring and window coverings are clean, organized, and reflective of current trends. Assist in setting up promotional materials, signage, and seasonal merchandising displays.
Qualifications & Skills

1-3 years of experience in retail sales, interior design, or customer service. Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a design-focused approach. Ability to multitask and manage several customer projects simultaneously. Proficiency in Microsoft Office. Knowledge of flooring and window covering materials, trends, and installation processes is an asset.
Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $45,000.00-$55,000.00 per year
