Position Overview


This full-time position combines exceptional customer service with essential store operations. As our Sales Associate, you will engage with customers, manage daily operational tasks and provide knowledgeable guidance on animal products. You will be responsible for opening and closing the location, controlling inventory (including documenting expiry dates and applying FIFO practices) and maintaining a clean, organized store environment. This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about animals, possess strong product knowledge and are eager to support community outreach initiatives.

Key Responsibilities


Customer Engagement:



Greet and assist customers with enthusiasm, clearly communicating our mission and how every purchase supports animal rescue efforts. Address inquiries regarding products, promotions and community events.

Sales and Inventory Management:



Process sales transactions accurately and efficiently. Manage product displays and maintain a store environment that reflects our commitment to animal welfare. Open and close the location following established procedures. Count and manage inventory, document expiry dates and apply FIFO (First In, First Out) practices to ensure product quality. Uphold high standards of store cleanliness and organization.

Team Collaboration:



Work closely with fellow associates to meet sales targets and support the organization's mission. Participate in team meetings and training sessions to enhance product knowledge and customer service skills.

Qualifications and Skills



Passion for Animals:

Strong commitment to animal welfare with in depth knowledge of animals and animal products.

Customer Service Experience:

Previous experience in retail or customer service is preferred.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to lift up to 40 lb repeatedly and perform physically demanding tasks.

Flexible Schedule:

Availability to work mornings, evenings and weekends as required for a full-time role.

Communication and Organizational Skills:

Excellent verbal and interpersonal skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and maintain detailed records.

Team Player:

Collaborative attitude with a commitment to supporting both community and team goals.
