Job Description

Peace By Chocolate is a Syrian owned chocolate company selling premium, locally made chocolate bars and artisanal truffles, along with other treats, drinks, and merchandise.

This position is responsible for engaging with, and providing, superior customer service. The challenge of this position is the fast paced nature of the position. This position could be scheduled to work Monday to Sunday between 9am and 9pm. This position works under the direct supervision of the Retail Supervisor. Travel is not required. Overtime may occur, may be last minute in nature, and when required is a condition of continued employment.

Position includes:

- Cash handling

- Stock

- Customer service

- Food prep

Previous retail and cash handling experience strongly preferred.

1. Customer Service and Cash Handling:

On a daily basis:

Using best communication and customer service skills, pleasantly greet new and returning customers when they come into the store. Exhibiting superior product knowledge, patiently explain relative products, complete tours of the store, and listen to client needs. Actively listening to customer preferences, assist customers with purchases, including creating custom gift packages and bags. Prepare and serve beverages (coffee, tea, specialty drinks, etc.) to customer specifications Paying close attention to the prices marked and requested method of payment, complete sales transactions.

On an ongoing and/or as needed basis:

Following established debit/credit process and store policies, complete product returns.

2. Inventory, Merchandising and Promotion:

On a daily basis:

Paying close attention to stock levels on shelves, restock the shelves, ensuring newest product to the back. Demonstrating creativity and according to nuances (e.g. sales reports, seasons, etc.) create product promotional displays. Demonstrating safe food handling practices, create pleasing product samples that encourage customers to buy products.

On a monthly basis:

In a thorough manner, taking into account product on the shelves and on display, as well as product in storage, accurately count and report on inventory.

On an ongoing and/or as needed basis:

As items deplete, accurately take products out of inventory and restock shelves, diligently ensuring newest product is placed at the back (First in, First out)

3. Housekeeping:

On a daily basis:

In a safe manner, and ensuring the proper cleaning supplies are used, sweep and mop floors, wipe and/or wash counter and display tops, stock shelves and display cases.

On an ongoing and/or as needed basis:

Throughout the day, paying close attention to the usage, replenish boxes, bags, napkins, tasting spoons, and information sheets.
