Trailblazers Camping & Outdoor Store is a specialty retail store that sells new and pre-owned(consigned) clothing, footwear and equipment. We also sell on-line via Kijiji, FB Marketplace and through our online store Gear-Stop.ca.
Trailblazers is looking for someone who fits the above criteria and feels that they have something to contribute to our team. This is a part-time position (initially). The role involves selling, visual merchandising, footwear and equipment fitting, receiving and processing consignment, cleaning and organizing, as well a posting on various social media and e-commerce platforms.
The scheduling is flexible and will vary from week to week.
Some weekend availability is a must, although we tend to mix things up so that everyone gets a chance to get outside and play.
As part of the interview processes, candidates will be tested to determine their knowledge of the outdoors and the use of equipment such as: backpacks, stoves, water filters etc. In addition, the candidates must demonstrate their ability to use MS Office tools such as Excel, Word and possibly MS Access. The candidate may also be asked to demonstrate their retail selling proficiency through the use of 'role play'.
Candidates should live in Cochrane.
Candidates should submit an accompanying cover letter which outlines their recent (within the last 5 years) and relevant outdoor experience. The cover letter should also highlight previous retail sales or customer service experience and how they feel they would be able to make a productive contribution to the Trailblazers Team.
