Job Overview:
Reporting to the Guest Services Manager, the Retail Sales Associate - Stores is dedicated to sharing our amazing products and experiences. Our Retail Sales Associates strive to provide a best-in-class guest experience to all who walk through our doors. Our friendly interactions, strong product knowledge and attention to detail will connect our guests with the products we sell and the memories we shape.
Responsibilities:
Create a welcoming atmosphere for visitors with a customer-focused approach, providing courteous and friendly answers to inquiries and valuable information to enhance the overall visitor experience
Engage and connect with our guests on the sales floor, leverage our product to tell stories and curate specific product collections for each guest you meet
Stay informed about new products, promotions, and Park activities
Promptly and responsibly address customer feedback to ensure guest satisfaction
Make recommendations to the leadership team on improving the employee and guest experience
Maintain cleanliness, organization, and standards (merchandising and food safety) at the location, ensuring visual appeal is maintained
Handle cash transactions and perform basic opening and closing duties with accuracy and attention to detail
Provide an exceptional visitor experience through friendly and courteous interactions with guests, staff, and volunteers, using polite greetings, actively acknowledging guests, and handling situations positively
Assist with the setup and teardown of seasonal events and merchandise at various stores
Cover shifts in other retail roles as needed, based on staffing requirements and employee absences
Perform other duties as required

Demonstrate commitment to workplace health and safety by complying with Heritage Park's Health, Safety and Environment Management System (HSEMS), following safe work practices, reporting work-related incidents, injuries and hazards, participating in employer training, and adhering policies including the Code of Conduct and the Workplace Violence and Harassment Policy
Actively support a positive work environment through creating an atmosphere of inclusion, engagement and fulfillment in line with Heritage Park values
Demonstrate responsible stewardship of our people, collections and financial assets by ensuring that they are handled with integrity, sustainability, and a focus on long-term benefits for the organization and its stakeholders
Required Qualifications:
Prior specialty/boutique retail or retail environment experience would be an asset
Adaptability, flexibility and a willingness to learn new things and be exposed to all aspects of our retail operation
An outgoing, enthusiastic and professional demeanour
Demonstrated strong interpersonal and communication skills in a client-faced setting
Fluency in English is essential; additional language skills would be an asset
Must be able to take initiative and work independently, as well as being an effective member of the team
All successful candidates (over the age of 18) will be required to go through a Police Information Check as a condition of employment
Special Clothing and Equipment:
Appropriate costuming and safety equipment will be provided by Heritage Park; and
Footwear, as designated by the Heritage Park Costume Department, will be provided by the employee.
Special Working Conditions:
This position is physically demanding, and the incumbent must have the ability to lift heavy items, stand for long periods of time and walk throughout the Park for extended periods during set-up, delivery and take-down.

The schedule for this position varies
The schedule will generally include weekdays, weekends, holidays and some evenings
