Overview:
The Retail Parts Salesclerk is responsible for greeting customers, listening to their needs, answering questions, making orders, and maintaining the tidiness of the retail store. Ultimately, you will be working and interacting directly with customers in a retail store setting.
Compensation: $22 - 24/hr.
Reports to: Sales Manager / GM
Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities:
• Answer questions about parts and show parts to customers.
• Be responsive and know how to use software tools for look up and price inquiries.
• Use Parts counter software for new parts invoices and inquiries, and for cashiering purchase transactions.
• Make recommendations for parts replacements to effectively sell products.
• Provide customers with information and advice on parts, potential cost savings and the advantages of using genuine parts, while offering solutions.
• Call customers to advise them when parts arrive and coordinate their pick-up times.
• Maintain positive customer relationships to ensure repeat business.
• Maintain the tidiness/cleanliness of the shop, displays, counter and parts backroom.
• Receive and restock the shelves when parts arrive.
• Ensure parts inventory is maintained in the store and order parts when needed.
Essential Skills & Qualifications:
• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• Previous work experience in a parts department at a retail level, or similar role.
• An understanding of RV parts technology and industry specific terminology is beneficial.
• Proficient with industry-specific software, retail sales tools.
• Excellent customer service, interpersonal and English communication skills.
• Be well organized and have problem solving skills.
• Some retail sales training is considered a benefit.
• Be presentable, polite and friendly.
• Be able to fulfill the physical requirements of the role, which include but are not limited to the ability to lift up to 50 lbs, standing in one place, walking, bending, squatting, kneeling, sitting, and working on a computer.
• Have a good merchandising eye for displays and stock shelf spacing.
• An ability to work individually and as part of a team.
