Job Description


We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Retail Manager/Purchaser to join a leading organization on North Vancouver. As the Retail Manager/Purchaser, you will be responsible for overseeing the retail operations, purchasing strategies, and business development initiatives for 3 outlets. Your expertise in retail merchandising, staff management, and sales strategies will play a pivotal role in driving revenue growth and ensuring exceptional customer experiences.

Responsibilities:

Operational Management:

  • Identify and evaluate potential suppliers, conduct market research, and maintain a qualified supplier base.
  • Negotiate and establish favorable terms and conditions for purchasing contracts, ensuring competitive pricing, quality, and delivery terms.
  • Monitor supplier performance, including on-time delivery, quality, and compliance with contractual obligations.
  • Resolve issues or disputes with suppliers, working collaboratively to find mutually beneficial solutions.
Staff Management and Training:
  • Recruit, train, and supervise retail staff, ensuring they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their roles effectively.
  • Provide ongoing coaching and development opportunities to enhance employee performance and engagement.
  • Schedule and manage staffing levels to optimize customer service and operational efficiency.
  • Foster a positive work environment and promote teamwork, motivation, and accountability among the retail team.
Customer Experience:
  • Develop and maintain a customer-centric approach, ensuring exceptional service and satisfaction.
  • Implement strategies to enhance the overall customer experience, such as improving store layout, visual merchandising, and product presentation.
  • Address customer complaints and resolve issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • Monitor customer feedback and use insights to drive improvements in service quality.
Sales and Profitability:
  • Monitor sales performance, analyze trends, and identify opportunities to increase revenue and profitability.
  • Develop and execute sales strategies, promotions, and marketing initiatives to drive sales growth.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to ensure effective implementation of marketing campaigns and initiatives.
  • Monitor and control expenses to meet budgetary targets and maximize profitability.
Requirements

Requirements:
  • 5+ years in Retail Leadership
  • Availability to work 100% in office including one day on the weekend
  • Bachelor\'s degree in business administration, retail management, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Proven experience in retail operations management, preferably in a multi-store environment.
  • Strong leadership abilities and the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of retail operations best practices, including inventory management, visual merchandising, and customer service.
  • Proficiency in using retail management software and systems.
  • Strong business acumen and financial management skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
