Retail Category Analyst - L'Oreal Consumer Products
THE TEAM & CONTEXT:
You will report into the Retail Category and Merchandising Leader and sit within the category development team, leading the data transformation. As a Retail Category Analyst, you'll drive strategic, O+O category insights that shape business priorities and enable better decision-making.
RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Strategic insights & market knowledge: synthesize Nielsen, Circana, Profitero, LDIA, Kline and U&A inputs to define category trajectories and growth scenarios.
  • Insight-to-action: translate complex quantitative and qualitative data into category strategies, supporting storytelling for category directors.
  • Strategic planning: anticipate category evolution and co-design go-to-market plans with category directors.
  • Reporting & tools: design, build and improve Power BI and Excel reports to scale CPD decision-making.
  • Internal reference: act as the go-to market data owner for the Canadian beauty industry and O+O shopper behaviour.
  • Transformation & influence: own division reporting within the Data Analytics team and champion adoption across functions.
WHO YOU ARE:
  • Bachelor's degree in, economics, business management or finance
  • 2 years of experience working in CPG, Retail Industry, Market Research, Category Management
  • Analytical mindset - proven ability to turn data into insights
  • Advanced Excel, PowerPoint and Power BI proficiency
  • Agile mindset and adaptability in a fast-changing environment
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Cross-functional leadership and stakeholder management
